OOC: Credit goes to Badger for some of the quotes used in flashbacks. Decided to draw upon some joint works we did a while back, hope you don't mind wherever you are.

San Francisco, California
Thomas McClane: Are you even listening?! Hey! Dumbass! ...Oh, I get it. That's right, it's true! Your mortal enemy is almost in arms reach, isn't he? I'm sure you're just boiling over right now... Well? Are you?! It's that anger that makes you who you are, Garland! Embrace it... And quit being a shit-head!
Now, as I said, I have somewhere else to be. What does that mean for you? Well, it simply means that he's going to have to watch over you for a bit!
McClane reaches into his pocket, tossing the controller for Garland's shock collar over to a man leaning on a nearby wall. The man catches it and smiles, McClane now walking off as a few of the other guards place themselves on standby. Garland remains silent, his eyes seemingly trying to burn a hole in this new figure who confidently walks completely into view.
"Figures that the road began again in San Francisco, California. Several years away from the ring, massive burnout, nagging injuries; I wasn’t at the point I wanted to be at. If I couldn’t give my best I wasn’t going to compete at all. I contemplated retirement; I was effectively in retirement in some ways having turned down calls from other companies to work at a desk job in the Silicon Valley. The pay was good but monotonous and my body wasn’t put under constant stress or pressure; I needed to get my head straight. I became a much different man over the years than I was when I first got my start in this business but these changes; they weren’t always for the better. I traded respect for greed, loyalty for success by any means necessary. I stabbed many people, many of my close friends in the back simply because they got in my way; The Revolutionary Turncoat was born out of that selfish desire. The successes were undeniable; it was like selling your soul to the devil."
Frank Washington: Good work out there Rodent, didn't know you still had it in you. Walt must be feeding you the good prison food eh? A special blend called Badger-surprise!? Oh, How the mighty have fallen!
Robert Garland: Don't talk to me Frank... I don't want to waste my time with your pointless jabber.
Frank chuckles a little, keeping his relaxed composure as he nonchalantly presses on the remote, the collar sending a powerful shock through Garland's body as Garland grits his teeth!
ARGHHGHGHGH!

"I became a monster; a criminal with legal protection. It wasn’t the first time I shocked him when he couldn’t defend himself and it certainly wasn’t the last either. A corrupt warden lured me out of retirement, preying upon my past issues with a man who was once one of my closest friends. He was at the lowest point of his life and all I did was shove him deeper into the abyss."
Frank presses on the remote again, wondering how much Garland could take. Garland cringes and bellows in pain as Frank walks over and throws a right hook at Garland's face.
Frank Washington: Take a good hard look at yourself, you've become a junkie! Not just for those drugs you took but for their adoration! You're the prison dog of the American Legal System, the perfect example of one's fall from top to bottom! You were at the mountaintop and yet you threw it all away!
But... That's why Walt gave me that call, to get you back on track. And, with yours truly managing you from now on, you will repay your debts in full!
Frank lets his finger hover over the button, Garland grunting and looking ready to snap...
Robert Garland: I swear! You press that one more time!...
Frank Washington: And what? You'll do what, Garland? Punch me? As an employee of the Walton Correctional Facility, I have let you know that that's assaulting an officer.
Frank goes to press the button again, trying to taunt a reaction out of Garland, eager to shock him again.
Robert Garland: You think that bothers me?!
Garland leaps towards Frank, Frank quickly panicking as he forces the button down once more. Garland looks like he's trying to fight through it all but eventually crumples to the floor, passing out. Frank looks down with a wry smile, calling for one of the other nearby officers...
Frank Washington: Yo, Piglet! Get this dog out of my sight, and send him back to his kennel...
Frank looks down at Badger, grinning sadistically as he's slumped over on the floor. The officer complies to Washington's wishes as a few more come over to help lift Garland up.

"You eventually pay for your sins. No matter how long you may try to run from them, no matter how much you try to skip out on your debts; karma always comes to collect and collect she does. A year ago my nemesis returned and we fought all over the Midwest and Southern United States. We tried to end each other’s careers and just when it looked like things would be resolved for good and the hatchet finally buried something always managed to throw a wrench into the works.
But I changed. One day I woke up, I looked at myself in the mirror and I didn’t recognize the man I saw in my reflection. I had to reassess a lot; I had to break old habits that had been deeply ingrained over the years and I had to make an effort to walk away from what had become the easy way out. Old friends that you haven’t heard from in a long time suddenly came back around like nothing happened, bad influences tempting you at each corner to revert back to the very habits you were trying to break. In a way it was like a drug addict trying to get clean; you had to make a change and cut certain people off to avoid falling off the wagon again.
And I did it. After turning over a new leaf I became a full time wrestler once again, I met a woman that would one day become my wife and I did things my way. Of course I had my detractors and my critics, people who waited for me to fail and would try to tear me down regardless of what I did; I used that negativity as motivation to push myself even harder. Despite the struggles, despite everything… I succeeded. Little did I know though that my prior actions, my prior sins would blindside me by one of the people I least expected it to come from."

Gold Rush 001

With a sinister grin Stevenson yells at Washington to quit who despite the damage his leg has taken defiantly refuses. Stevenson warns him one more time before running his leg full speed again the post and still Washington refuses to give in. Finally deciding that enough was enough Stevenson goes for one more figure four leglock but this time opting to wrap it around the ringpost as he applies the BoneCrusher (Figure Four Leg Lock around the ring post). Washington screams in agony as he tries in vain to escape the hold until a very nasty, blood curdling *CRUNCH* can be heard. Jack Williams immediately calls for the bell as Frank Washington could be seen turning pale from the sheer pain. Stevenson takes his time to release the hold as Joe Angelini and Bobby Brooks run out to help Jack Williams pry Stevenson out of the hold.
"I'm the Man" by Aloe Blacc can be heard playing as the much ends as the trio of referees do their best to pry Stevenson out of the hold and away from Frank Washington. Steven O’Reilly, head of Talent Relations for GGW emerges from the back with a medical team and finally the referees are able to force Stevenson to break the hold. Frank Washington is screaming in pain clutching his leg as the crowd showers the arena with boos, some people beginning to toss trash into the ring as Stevenson looks absolutely remorseless.
Mark Robertson: Finally Golden Gate Wrestling has a Champion they can be proud of! Hard fought victory, well deserved!
Alexander Smith: He broke Frank’s leg! How could you, how could anyone be proud of that? I understand that this is a very physical sport; I get that but nobody wants to see someone’s livelihood get taken away from them! He planned on that, he intentionally tried to break his leg and he did it that son of a bitch! Some brother! How can he be proud of himself?
Mark Robertson: He should’ve tapped out! The hold under No Disqualification rules is completely legal and he should’ve swallowed his pride.
Alexander Smith: Swallowed his pride? Are you kidding me? It took 3 grown men just to force him to break that hold; he had no intentions of letting go until he crippled the man! He should be fired! Drew Stevenson is a disgrace to professional wrestling! He can go straight to hell!

Drew Stevenson throws his hands up and slides out of the ring as the medical staff reaches ringside. Stevenson feigns going for his belt and instead shoves the medical staff out of the way as he starts to stomp mercilessly on the broken leg which causes fans to throw chairs now into the ring out of protest. Alexander Smith seeing enough throws his headset down and takes his tie off as he goes to personally intervene. Smith tackles Stevenson off of Frank Washington but quickly gets punched in the face and then mounted by Stevenson who unleashes several more. As Alexander Smith begins to bleed from his forehead Stevenson runs his hand over it and wipes it over his chest with a sinister grin before shoving his face into the ground.
"From the traitor to the betrayed; eventually everything comes full circle."
As Frank is reflecting upon and internally reliving these memories he can be seen sitting in a wheel chair with his leg elevated and in a cast inside his San Jose home. Although he’d never show it in public, lest he allow Drew Stevenson to use it to his advantage it ate away at him inside. A man he once considered a brother, someone he could count on to watch his back regardless of the situation was the one who ultimately delivered the fatal blow, driving that dagger deep into his back much like Frank did to countless others years ago. Slowly with a solemn look in his eyes he picks up the book that was laying upon his lap, the book that was essentially his “Bible”, a book he has lived by inside and out of the ring to great success; “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu. Upon those pages was one quote that particularly stuck out from the rest, a quote that rang true throughout the recovery process to Frank as he nursed his injury.
“Appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are weak.”
His eyes were fixed upon that quote for several minutes, his eyes never leaving the page as he relived the events over and over again in his mind. Finally the total silence was pierced as the sound of the door knob slowly turning echoed throughout the house causing Frank to close his book and lay it on his lap as he began to wheel himself towards the door…
