To say that Gold Rush had ended on a big note wasn't selling it enough. The biggest shocker of all was Scotty Addams appearing. And it wasn't even so much his appearance at Golden Gate Wrestling, but more-so that he came to the aid of Frankie Cocheese, a man that he hasn't gotten a long with for a while since they were traveling the South together a bit but before then were two out of four partners in one of the most infamous groups in professional wrestling today. But now with Scotty in Golden Gate, making his return to the West Coast in a number of years, Stephanie Clark was able to catch up with Scotty in the back.
Stephanie Clark: Scotty! Scotty!
He stopped walking to turn around with a smirk when he saw Stephanie.
Stephanie Clark: We just saw out there something that I don't think anybody had expected. We saw "Never Say Die" Scotty Addams come back make a surprise appearance, and to the aid of Frankie Cocheese no less. Let's take a quick look and the events that just unfolded.
“Water” by Lil Bibby hits the PA system as Frankie Cocheese sits up the reality not quite setting in yet as the crowd goes wild.
Julian Masterson: Here is your winner and the 2015 Dusty Rhodes Memorial Cup winner… FRANKIE COCHEESE!
Alexander Smith: Frankie Cocheese has done it! Against all the odds, despite wrestling 4 matches all in a row he somehow, someway found a way to finish! What an incredible show of heart and determination after being jumped just two weeks ago!
Mark Robertson: There’s no way, no way he could’ve possibly pulled this off!
Alexander Smith: Well seeing is believing Mark, tonight the prize belongs to Young Cochedda the Don!
Jack Williams raises his arm as Cocheese drops to his knees. Cocheese points to the cup at ringside as he goes to roll out of the ring and he manages to hoist it up high in the air as confetti falls from the ceiling. He leans back against the guardrail as he begins to celebrate with the fans as all of a sudden the celebration is cut short.
“I’m the Man” by Aloe Blacc starts playing as The Elite Four – Drew Stevenson, Barrel, Reed Williams, and Robert Goldstein emerge from the back slowly clapping as they begin to split off in an attempt to pincer him in.
Alexander Smith: It’s not enough to take out Theo Vega and Showtime is it? Stevenson and his pack of hounds just have to crash what should be Frankie Cocheese’s moment.
Mark Robertson: It’s never enough! Are you forgetting when this miscreant crashed OUR Champion’s celebration on Gold Rush 002? Why does he get a pass Smith? Why? He doesn’t have Theo Vega or Showtime to save his hide. Normally they’d get involved to “do the right thing” as certain apologists would claim but they’re on the shelf tonight!
Cocheese can’t help but shake his head as he sees the sharks trying to encircle him. Knowing he was in for a fight he probably couldn’t win he set the trophy down. Stevenson takes off his jacket and begins to roll up his sleeves, just as it looked like disaster would strike for the new Cup winner.
"Shadow in Disguise" by Meytal suddenly hits the arena. the crowd roars to life as Stevenson nearly drops his championship out of frustration as he quickly turns around. Out from the back comes Scotty Addams running out with a steel chair in hand. Like a stack of dominos the Elite Four quickly split and hop over the barricade as a confused Frankie Cocheese looks on.
Alexander Smith: That’s Scotty Addams!
Mark Robertson: What’s he doing here! I thought he was friends with Drew?!
Alexander Smith: It’s a matter of doing the right thing. Frankie Cocheese and Scotty Addams haven’t seen eye to eye on a whole lot the last time they were seen together in a wrestling ring but if anyone could put their issues aside for a cause it'd be for something like this. Stevenson and his crew are a cancer!
Stevenson wags his finger as he mouths “on our time, not yours” as the group made a strategic retreat. Cocheese and Addams exchange a few words as Cocheese seems to be both angry and relieved at seeing his friend-turned-enemy run out for the save. GGW fades to black as the two have a standoff of their own to close the show.
Stephanie Clark: From what we just saw, Frankie Cocheese seemed more surprised than anything that you would come to his aid, considering the recent rocky history that you've had. And now the match has been made official; in two weeks we're going to see you teaming up with Frankie Cocheese, Theo Vega and Showtime against the Elite Four of The Golden Gate Champion Drew Stevenson, Robert Goldstein, Reed Williams and Barrel. So Scotty...
[Scotty]: Yes, Stephanie?
Scotty spoke with a smirk.
Stephanie Clark: Why DID you save Frankie Cocheese from suffering a similar fate to Showtime and Theo Vega?
[Scotty]: Ya know what, Stephanie? I'm glad you cut right to the chase because I know I'm going to get asked this a million times so may as well get it out there. Look, it's no secret that Frankie and I haven't seen eye to eye on a whole lotta things when we last ran into each other and to be honest? My eyes weren't even set on competing here in Golden Gate. I was pretty content taking some time off, relaxing at home with the wife but I've been watching Golden Gate as a fan. When Drew and Frank told me they were competing for the Golden Gate title I had to tune in, Stephanie. Two men that were by my side through a whole lot of crap in this business, to say the least. But when I saw what happened to Frank... what Drew did to Frank... it pissed me off Stephanie. It had me distraught to an extent to because the last I knew or anybody knew, those two were as tight as you could get. There were gaps since we haven't traveled together as the unit in a while but what Drew did sickened me, Stephanie. And then to my surprise, Frankie Cocheese shows up except he's not trying to cap some people this time. This time he's doing it for his love of the business that I knew he always had and I respect the hell out of it.
Scotty paused for a moment. He rubbed the stubble of facial hair around his mouth, down to his chin and shook his head before continuing.
[Scotty]: So I was intrigued... I guess you could say. Frankie had me interested. Him and Roach both because I heard a lot about Roach when Drew, Frank, Frankie and I was traveling together but never got to work with him but I know those two as a team are a force to be reckoned with. But then Drew and this 'Elite Four' that they're calling themselves just kept rubbing salt into the wound, Stephanie. They couldn't leave well enough alone. They kept taking jabs at Frank being out on injury, kept laughing about the fact that Drew abused his brotherhood with Frank just for another World title... and I got tired of it. I got tired of seeing Reed Williams talking like he's God's gift to everything when he's got this big tattooed freak doing all of his dirty work. Hell, where's Cross when you need 'em? At least that big man could be intimidating.
Scotty chuckled before looking back to Stephanie.
[Scotty]: I came to Golden Gate to see this bullshit first hand and when I saw it earlier with Showtime and Theo Vega? I couldn't stand it and maybe I should have stepped in sooner but regardless of how rocky things between Frankie and I have been the past couple of months? I wasn't about to sit back and let Drew and his bunch of pansies do more damage than they already had done. Even the best of friends fight, Stephanie, and things with Frankie and I? They're not going to be swept under the rug, not entirely, not right away. But Frankie and I originally came together as a team to help form a brotherhood. Drew Stevenson BROKE that brotherhood by crossing the line. So let me be very clear with this one, Stephanie. Any sort of doubt that anybody may have in me.. thinking I'm going to be just another ploy in Drew Stevenson's book... you couldn't be any more wrong. See I came here to help stop this ego trip that Drew Stevenson has found himself on. There's no ulterior motives, no hidden games, no bullshit. Frankie needed my help and I helped him because that's what family does for one another, Stephanie. We may fight, we may hate each other for a bit but in the end, we're always there for each other when it matters. It's as simple as that. I came to stop him, Stephanie, one way or another and I'm smart enough to know I can't do it alone as long as the Elite Four are involved.
His 'jokingly' expression had changed in a hurry and he got really serious really quick.
[Scotty]: And the best part, Stephanie? It looks like I don't have to because in two weeks I've got Frankie Cocheese, Theo Vega and Showtime on my side.
Stephanie Clark: That sounds great, but... what makes you think that it's a given that Frankie is going to work with you?
It was funny, because just as she had said that, the man in question, Frankie Cocheese, stepped onto the screen. Stephanie backed up a bit as the tension was high. Scotty and Frankie stood there standing face to face, not a word was said between the two and it didn't need to be. Because the next thing that happened spoke loud enough for any amount of words. Frankie extended his hand to the shock of Stephanie, and everybody else that would be watching. His hand was extended and he stared at Scotty who too reached out his hand. The two shook hands without saying a word; just a nod of the head from both men and Frankie walked off scene. Scotty looked at Stephanie who held the mic up one more time.
