It has come to our attention that due to a recent lawsuit, wrestling and business operations have come to a halt immediately. As you may know fans have rioted or have come close to rioting several times during our Gold Rush Broadcasts; the most notable example being when Drew Stevenson won the Golden Gate Championship by breaking Frank Washington's leg. Several fans have stepped forward citing injuries they suffered in the infamous riot and are holding Isaac Cornelius III responsible for provoking such hostilities and subsequently shielding the responsible parties from punishment.
With the impending lawsuit, most of Golden Gate Wrestling's sponsors have either pulled out or suspended cooperation during the impending court case and with a lack of revenue coming in, Mr. Cornelius is not keen to keep the promotion afloat with his family's own personal savings saying "I have seen this disaster happen before where a business or wrestling company refuses to see the writing on the wall and insist on draining their bank accounts to zero before realizing the mistakes they made. Sometimes businesses fail, that's the spirit of capitalism and every owner must go in willing to accept these risks. My legal team and i will fight these charges vigorously but until there is a resolution I will not spend a single cent more on GGW operations." Such a case could take months in the best case scenario to come to a resolution and IC3's Legal Team does not appear to be open for an out of court settlement stating it would be to "admit guilt".
So what does this mean from an OOC standpoint? I'm indefinitely suspending operations of the fed. Maybe we'll come back and maybe we wont but I wouldn't quite get my hopes up either. A lot of things have happened lately, I've had several members come to me seeking a LOA for various reasons (it's not my business to disclose why) and several others have fallen on hard times and as a fedhead as well as a friend I'm not going to ask them to burden their schedules when it's simply not doable currently. Things are also uncertain on my end since we recently found out that the house we're renting from is about to head on the market and if we don't exercise the option to purchase it we'll have to find a place to move to in 60 days. If several other circumstances were different and it was just me having to move I'm confident I could keep up with results with only a slight gap in internet availability but at the same time for the reasons mentioned above I'm simply not going to force what isnt there. To everyone that has ever roleplayed for the show, whether you were with us from the beginning or just recently came on board, you have my deepest gratitude and thanks. I'm glad that those who stuck around or decided to join enjoyed the short summary style match results and if circumstances were different i would be glad to keep going since I certainly don't feel burnt out.
As for what I'm going to do I'm probably going to look around at feds I may join and get out there as a roleplayer again or if I don't come across any that really jump out at me I'll probably take a sabbatical and focus on other forms of roleplaying. Whether or not we ever run a show again whether on a biweekly, monthly schedule really depends on the interest of the members. Once I move and have a few months off to pursue other hobbies and if the people want it back? i'm open to giving it another go but if this is the end? Well we went out with a bang with the Dusty Rhodes Memorial Cup. The last thing I wanted to do was to close down Golden Gate Wrestling but all good things must come to an end. Thanks for the roleplays and I hope to catch you all around.
