White walls are the very first thing seen in view as the cameras open up in a very familiar location. Panning around the room, we see many glass cases with championship belts placed in them and sitting behind a very finely and beautifully crafted wooden desk is none other than the wrestling legend himself, Drew Stevenson. Wearing a very expensive Armani suit that really brings out his eyes, Stevenson sits very professionally as he clasps his hands together while staring directly into the camera that watches and records him like a hawk.
Drew, "Just when I thought things couldn't get any bigger, Mr. Cornelius goes and books quite possibly the biggest match that this business has seen in quite some time. Now, in case you have been living under a rock for the last few weeks -- let me fill you in on what I am talking about."
Continuing to stare directly into the camera, he tilts his head to the left ever so slightly while continuing to speak.
Drew, "It's no secret that Mr. Cornelius knew that he needed a blockbuster in order to get people to take a look at what Golden Gate Wrestling is all about and I have to say, you definitely nailed it right on the head when you decided to book myself against a man who I consider a brother in Frank Washington. Do you know what I find to be the funniest though? There I was, sitting at home, lounging around by my pool when I noticed that Mr. Cornelius had decided to contact me about coming to work for the GGW. Having pondered it, we ended up reaching an agreement and let's be honest with one another -- nobody is surprised that I am in the main event for the Golden Gate Championship because that's what I do best, I always go straight to the top and that's because I am quite possibly the best person that this entire industry has ever seen."
Taking in a deep breath, he allows a very arrogant smirk to slowly stretch along his handsomely chiseled face.
Drew, "Now don't let that confuse you, because if anybody is close to the top of the mountain as I am -- it's definitely the man who I am stepping into the ring against on the very first edition of Gold Rush and that man is Frank Washington; a man who needs no introduction and a man who I have so much respect for in this business."
Looking down for a moment, he separates his hands and straightens the jacket of his suit. After straightening his jacket, he puts his hands back together and places them on the wooden surface of his large desk.
Drew, "Don't you find it rather ironic Frank? I mean, we are both used to people immediately pushing us to the top because that is where we belong. However, Mr. Cornelius shows that he has a rather large set on him because he decided to do something that nobody else would do and that is book Frank Washington against Drew Stevenson, Joker against Joker. Now with that being said; you know as well as I do that once that bell sounds? Every bit of respect that I have for you gets left at the gorilla curtain and you become nothing more than an opponent, an obstacle that has been placed in my way and you know better than anyone else just what happens to obstacles that have been placed in my way -- I run through them!"
Looking as serious as a heart attack, his dark brown eyes narrow almost to a squint as he continues to speak.
Drew, "Now don't get my words twisted Frank, because I know that I won't run through you like I have other opponents in the past. If there's anybody in this business who I consider almost an equal to me, it's you. Now, I do hope that you noticed that I said almost because while you are as close as they come being my equal? There's not a single, solitary soul who has accomplished or will go on to accomplish what I have done in this business. Yeah, I know that what I am saying right now is arrogant but when you have been in this business and done the things that I have done? You get all rights to say exactly what I am saying here and now."
Once again allowing a very arrogant smirk to creep up along his face, he knows that every single person is hanging on to his every word because this is the first time that he has been seen in quite a while.
Drew, "Do you remember the last time you and I faced off Frank? I'm sure that you do, it was over in North Carolina and you and I put on the best match that they have seen in a very long time. We stole the show, we gave every single person in attendance more than their money’s worth and that is exactly what we are going to give everybody in San Francisco -- we are going to give them a five star classic, we are going to give them an hour-long Broadway that they will never forget but when that Broadway is over? There can only be one person left standing, there can only be one person who is recognized as the absolute best that this business has to offer and no disrespect intended but you are looking right at him Frank!"
Taking a moment to pause, it wasn't so that he could gather his thoughts but more so so Frank could take in every single word that was coming out of Stevenson's mouth right now.
Drew, "Thirty two times Frank, that is the number of times that I have been the absolute best in this business. There's very few men who ever receive one shot, let alone thirty two and that is how many times that I have walked out as the best in this business. So let me ask you a question Frank, putting all of our personal feelings aside, how do you intend on being the man to stop me from becoming a thirty three time World Champion?"
Grinning from ear to ear, he separates his hands and extends his index finger on his right hand shaking it at the camera.
Drew, "Instead of making you figure it out like some sort of complicated puzzle, I'm going to go ahead and tell you simply because you are like a brother to me and that is that you don't stop me."
Shaking his head from left to right, you could hear the intensity in his voice as he speaks.
Drew, "I am one step away Frank, just one from once again showing the world just why I am the best and if you think that you are going to be the man to stop me, well, I want you to know here and now that I am willing to do whatever it takes to walk out with my hand raised as the winner because brother or not? I am going to walk out as the first ever Golden Gate Champion, even if that means that I have to break a family member in order to do so."
Separating his hands and placing them on the wooden desk, he presses himself up to his feet and once again straightens the jacket of his very expensive Armani suit. Giving the camera a very smug look, he turns on a dime and walks out of the room as everything fades to black.
