Following the Main Event of Gold Rush 001 Frank Washington was evaluated by the medical staff and later undergoing an MRI at UCSF; the results were not good. After being diagnosed with a severe leg fracture doctors have ruled him out of action indefinitely and have advised him to stay away from events for the time being to reduce the risk of further injury for his own safety. Alexander Smith will also be away from the announce table during Gold Rush 002 to recover from the attack at the hands of Drew Stevenson after he attempted to intervene. Steven O'Reilly, the Head of Talent Relations for Golden Gate Wrestling will fill in for him as the play-by-play announcer for Gold Rush 002.
In other news a change was recently made to the card as the Triple Threat Match has officially become a singles match between Dash Miles and Silas Romero. Kai Sanchez recently pulled out of the match for an undisclosed reason and it is currently unclear on whether or not he will make an appearance at the show.
