Twas off some Carribbean shore while on an epic quest
We came across a strange device
A mystic portal into another time
Where vikings ruled the land and sea
Such mighty treasure they did hold
We killed them all to steal their gold!
You put your faith in Odin and Thor
We put ours in cannons and whores
Your viking gods won't save you now
When pirates strike from the starboard bow
Back through time
To fight the viking foe
Back through time
Where our voyage must now go
Six hundred years into the past
Our destiny is here at last
For infamy and plunder we will ride

”To think that home is only a 5 hour drive from this place. That single thought is comforting in a way. People ask me why did you come here anyway, what was the purpose? I simply smile and give them a confident look and reply ‘Just another place to show off what I’ve got, conquer the world, and be the best’. That’s all this is about. I’m here in Golden Gate to show everyone what I’ve got, be the best, and be champion. I’ll do whatever it takes. The Gate is about to be invaded by this Beautiful Psychopath.”
A dark jade green rental car pulls into the lot, parking at the back and killing the motor. The arena where the latest GGW taping would be taking place loomed just a short distance away as Autumn stared at it with a curious eye. She let the radio continue blasting music as she leaned back and rested against the seat, staring at the ceiling of the car. She wasn’t quite ready to head inside yet and start getting ready for her first match here in the GGW, not yet. She wanted to sit here and just relax for the time being, let everything soak in for a minute.
And then her phone rang, disrupting everything that had been going through her head. She pulled it out of her pocket with a snort, held it up to her face, and pressed a button.
”Hello?”
”Hey, what’s up?”
”Nothing, I’m sitting in the parking lot where this GGW event’s supposed to be taking place listening to the radio. Haven’t gone inside yet. That’s pretty much what’s up.”
”Nice. Just thought I’d call and wish you luck tonight. You sure about all of this? Going somewhere else?”
Niobe rolled her eyes slightly as she let out a sigh, turning in her seat as she reached back for her duffel bag with the white tattooed symbol of a raven on the side and pulled it into her lap, patting it carefully as though it were a pet.
”Of course I’m sure about this. Anywhere I can go and show off, prove myself, and be the best at what I do, I’ll go. Owner from the GGW got ahold of me, asked if I’d come by, check the place out and possibly sign a deal so I agreed. Those who know me, know what I bring to the table, those who don’t…well they’re in for a rude awakening when I show up. It’s why I feel bad for this Devi Novaković chick. She’s got some skill for never having any formal training.”
”You sound like you’re impressed with her.”
Autumn shrugged lightly, opening the door to her car and climbing out of it with her duffel bag slung over one shoulder, shutting the door with her foot as she started the walk towards the arena, still chatting on the phone.
”Yeah, a little bit. To come into this business with no formal training and kick some ass at these independent places is pretty bad ass. But her informal training versus my years of being in this business, training in the best school in the Carolinas under Shannon Moore and running the independent circuit for a period of time is going to work against her.
She doesn’t like confrontation either. Well it’s like I would tell her, sweetheart, a whole load of confrontation is coming to your doorstep very very soon so you better grow up and get ready otherwise your whole world is going to get turned upside down really really quick.”
”Right on, that sounds like the Autumn Raven I know. I just wanted to make sure you were comfortable going into this, being there. You know I’ll be watching from somewhere, I want to see you win this one. Go out there and bring the fight to her, introduce the world to the Beautiful Psychopath.”
Autumn chuckled, opening the back door and walking inside, marching down the hallway towards the locker room. A few minutes later, she stood in front of it with a smile on her face.
”I promise, this night will be mine. I’m gonna let you go, I’ll talk with you later okay?”
”Sounds good, talk to you later. Bye.”
”Bye.”
And she shoved her phone into her pocket, disappearing into the locker room that was hers, dropping her duffel bag down and beginning the slow process of taking off her street clothes and putting her gear on. Several minutes later, she emerged, dressed in her gear, looking for a fight.
”Another place for me to show off, to show what I can do, and prove myself to another group of people that I am the best at what I do. My fans know who I am, know me very well. To those of you in the Bay, and here in the GGW, this includes my opponent Devi, let me give you a quick history lesson so listen up.
They call me Autumn Raven, or the Beautiful Psychopath. I’m not some dolled up, fluffball, playing the hero role like I see again around here. I’m a chick who takes no prisoners and fights like there’s no tomorrow. I fly around the ring like the best in the business and I’m hard to catch so you better be on your ‘A’ game to go toe to toe with me. Knock me down but I’ll get back up and continue fighting until I can’t stand anymore.
That’s who I am.”
She smoothed out the front of her outfit, chucking softly.
”I was a last minute edition to the card at GGW. They told me I was fighting some other relative newcomer in Devi. All the way from Croatia, no formal training, completely self taught in the ways of a wrestler. That’s impressive, really. And it seems you continue to learn the more you expose yourself to this life. It’ll get you far, it will.
But that’s where the nice ends and the real fun begins.
I hear you don’t like confrontation, you don’t like getting into fights except for in the ring. News flash lady, that shit’s gonna happen a lot in this business both in and out of the ring so you’re gonna have to deal with it just like you’re going to have to deal with the fight that I bring to you tonight. I’m coming to your doorstep and kicking the damn door down, bringing the fight to you whether you like it or not because that’s the way I am.
I don’t like waiting, and I don’t like playing stupid games. So let’s get in there and put on a show for the crowd, let experience versus self-trained give the crowd something to talk about after it’s all said and done.
Because I will be the one they’ll talk about tomorrow.”
Autumn smirks and disappears around the corner.
