Gold Rush 003

Theo Vega comes out like a bolt of lightning from the opening bell, dominating the smaller Sean Vaughn at almost every turn. Vaughn tries to use his quicker pace to overwhelm T.V. but only manages to get caught for a One-Arm Fallaway Slam for his troubles. Vaughn tries to duck between the ropes at every opportunity begging for a break to the referee. After several ducks T.V. just throws his arms up and exits the ring, grabbing a chair from underneath the ring, tossing it in. Brooks tries to take the chair away but T.V. places his foot on it as Vaughn looks mortified as the prospect of a chair being introduced to his pretty face. T.V. wags his finger at Brooks and shoos him away as he lands a few stiff chops to the chest of Vaughn before he once again ducks under the ropes. With a cocky grin T.V. throws his arms up and backs up, picking up the chair and unfolding it before sitting down. T.V. points to his wrist as if he were wearing a watch mouthing the words “are you done yet, Bambino? Come on I got a match to wrestle!” Vaughn ducks out from under the ropes and kicks the bottom rope several times in frustration as T.V. mocks him to the delight of the crowd and charges him. T.V. gets up from the chair as Vaughn looks for the stiffest discus lariat known to man, only to end up being caught in the Cuban Classic (tongan death grip)! Vaughn’s face turns bright red as he struggles to get free as T.V. goes to sit down in the chair as Vaughn drops to his knees flailing with his arms. T.V. turns his head to the referee and motions with his free hand “ask him”. As Bobby Brooks goes to ask Vaughn is muttering nearly out of breath that he quits as he calls for the bell.

Julian Masterson: The following match is scheduled for one fall!

Hitz by Chase & Status feat Tinie Tempah hit the arena as the crowd gives a mixed reaction.

Julian Masterson: Making his way to the ring first, from London, England, weighing 215lbs… Kai Sanchez!

The mixed reaction slowly turns more and more negative as nobody emerges from the back. The music halts for 10 seconds before starting again. This time the crowd boos loudly again as nobody emerges from the back.

Suddenly the music cuts off as the feed quickly cuts back stage as a blood curdling scream could be heard. As the camera crew rushes towards the back pipes could be heard falling to the cement, echoing throughout the hallways. As the camera crew finally reaches the scene of the crime Kai Sanchez is lying unconscious on the ground with blood running from his forehead. Christy LeFleur and Camile Westwood are in a panic as the EMTs rush to the scene.

Alexander Smith: I’m at a loss for words Ladies and Gentlemen. Kai Sanchez was scheduled to compete in mere moments and instead we have to bear witness to the aftermath of a barbaric assault.

Mark Robertson: Looks like Kai Sanchez made an enemy or two, or perhaps more accurately maybe his girls made snide remarks at the wrong person and had to pay the price for their mischief.

Alexander Smith: Unfortunately the cameras couldn’t get back there soon enough to catch the people who did this. Whether you love or hate Kai Sanchez, and one could argue he has plenty of reasons for both, there’s no way you can condone this. I hope he’s ok.

Mark Robertson: Just goes to show that you got to watch your back! I would say I felt sorry for him but Westwood was very, very rude to me at the break room several days ago. Unfortunately for Kai he had to pay her karmic debt!

As Gold Rush returns from commercial a commotion could be heard in the hall way as the camera crews approach catering. People could be heard shouting urgently for medical attention as Black House could be seen lay out on the ground. Roach seemed to be the worst one off of the two as he was driven straight through the table, food and drink could be spilled on and around him. Cocheese could be seen slumped up against the wall with blood running down his face as Steven O’Reilly looks absolutely furious.

Alexander Smith: A second backstage attack?

Mark Robertson: Well how about that! The shoe is on the other foot now isn’t it?

Alexander Smith: This has to be premeditated; first Kai Sanchez and now Black House? I seriously doubt this is the work of just one person.

As the camera pans around a garbage can is tipped over on it’s side, the can of RAID in particular stands out amongst the debris.

Alexander Smith: This is a set up! You know Bradford was seen with that in the video shoot last week, going as far as to mention Roach when pulling it out.

Mark Robertson: That doesn’t prove anything. Maybe Julian Masterson had to take care of an ant problem? I don’t know where you come from Smith but these conspiracy theories hold no water.

Alexander Smith: Isn’t it obvious? This is retaliation from last week’s championship celebration being interrupted. This has Drew Stevenson and BURAI written all over it, they never intended to have a match to begin with! Damn them both!

Mark Robertson: Not saying it was, but even if Drew Stevenson was a part of this you can’t say this wasn’t justified after last Gold Rush. These hooligans don’t have an ounce of respect for anyone and if you ask me they got exactly what they deserved.

Alexander Smith: Well they did a sloppy job if you ask me because you know Black House isn’t going to take this sitting down for long. Someone is going to pay for this attack; IC3 is going to have his hands full next week because I doubt the doctors will give them clearance before this night is over.

Mark Robertson: I’m sure Hans Vandenberg will do a good job; he did a decent job with the last pest IC3 had to deal with. Let this be a lesson to never bite the hand that feeds!

There was a panic backstage after the news of Black House being put down, staff and some lesser roster members were involved in a shouting match over what needs to be done. The general consensus seemed to be having people step in to fill the void left as the main event was a big deal, especially for a company as young as Golden Gate Wrestling. Two skinny fellows, both with shaven heads—both who looked to be nothing more than 275lbs combined were in front of the line…


[Skinny Dude #1]: THIS IS DESTINY! JERRY, THIS IS WHY WE WERE HIRED! FOR THIS MOMENT!


The other skinny fellow, who seemed to be named ‘Jerry’ nodded his head, which looked like a bobble-head due to how small his body was and threw his left arm around the other man.


[Jerry]: Yes sure indeed brother! Jerome, we can soar… we can soar to the skyyyy..


[Skinny Dude #1]: LARK! THE SKYLARKS WILL RISE!


Parting the crowd like Moses, the imposing and charismatic Showtime who had the night off tilted his head back and arched a brow in The Skylark’s direction, the shouting match subdued by now…


[Showtime]: … Who..


Shaking his head, Showtime smiled and looked away for a brief second as he attempted to collect his thoughts. Waving his hand in front of his face in a way to tell his brain to function quicker he spoke up again.


[Showtime]: … What...


He paused AGAIN, Jerome and Jerry didn’t seem to be thrilled with Showtime cutting them off and they attempted to speak, in some weird twin unison but Showtime put both hands up, palms facing out towards the Skylarks as he spoke.


[Showtime]: WHOA.. WHOA! Dumb and Dumber, ain’t nobody said you could speak! Don’t be throwing around your two-hundred and fifty pound combined bird-crap bodied opinions in my direction! I’m not trying to hear it ‘cause I simply don’t care! You two think you can step onto the hotbed of professional wrestling on the West Coast and take a spot that I’ve been busting my ass for!?


[Jerry Skylark] I uh-


[Showtime]: I uh!? I uh?! I- UH- COOL- AH?! ARE YOU HAWAIIAN JERRY?! Are you going to boil my bones, eat my flesh and club me over the head!? I know Hawaiians, I’ve been to Hawaii, from the look of things neither of you have seen light since exiting Mama’s womb and blindin’ the OBYGN’s with your glow in the light paleness son!


[Jerome Skylark]: We-


Snapping his attention to Jerome since Jerry was humbled, Showtime arched a brow again.


[Showtime]: French!? Hawaiian?! French-Hawaiians?! Gerrrr-HOME ze SkyLARZ?! WHAT IT IS BOYS?! Having an identity crisis all of a sudden!? You know what, DON’T answer that. Just do me a favor and get out of my sight before I slap you both into one body and you fuse into Iokua ze SkyLARZ!

Pausing after going off on that electrifying rant, they didn’t budge. Neither Skylark moved until Showtime jab stepped forward causing both men to tuck tail and sprint through the same gap that Showtime emerged from. With the brothers gone, Showtime turned back to the camera, all in a symbolic look—had the rest of GGW standing behind him.


[Showtime]: Since IC3 decided that Gold Rush didn’t need me tonight, I figured I’d enjoy the moment, take a breather and enjoy the sight as a spectator, but that don’t seem to be the case. See, while Alex Healy touts being the ‘only’ undefeated talent on all shows, that’s cool. Sure Alex, you can have that title, make a medal out of it, wear it proudly ‘cause we both know if you stood across the ring from me I’d slap you back into the vat of Canadian piss you crawled out of!


Rolling his shoulders forward, Showtime was on a row.


[Showtime]: But this ain’t about the third Skylark brother in Alex Healy, no- NO! This is about tonight, this is about Gold Rush. This is about filling the void Cocheese and Termite-


“Roach…”


Cutting off Showtime was an absolute no-no, something that under any circumstances shouldn’t be done. Smiling, he nodded his head a few times and answered a question under his breath, all as he turned around slightly—


[Showtime]: Let me ask you a question, and I expect nothing but honesty.


The crowd gave a mixed response to Showtime’s request.


[Showtime]: With a show a hands, who here wants me to put each Skylark, minus Alex under my shoes and mop the freakin’ floor with those undernourished clowns!?


Surely enough Showtime spotted Jerry and Jerome who managed to pull a wig out of no-where and stood in the back of the crowd, they tried to disguise themselves but once they felt the power of Showtime’s glare, they got the hell out of Dodge. Shaking his head, Showtime turned his head back towards the camera and continued.


[Showtime]: Cocheese.. Termite.. Mosquito.. Roach- it doesn’t matter. What does matter is, about three thousand people spent their hard earned dollar to see Drew Stevenson and Kamikaze Boy get their asses kicked and I’m not in the business of lettin’ people down! So I say this.. Since Frankie and Gnat can’t make it and no-one else aside of The Skyline Duo wants to step in.. How about I nominate myself—no, no. How about I DEMAND that I be put in The Black House’s place and represent Golden Gate Wrestling against The Emerald and The Sushi Kid!?


The crowd seemed to like the idea, all as Showtime smirked.


[Showtime]: Stevenson I said from day one that you’re the most skilled technical wrestler I’ve seen. You’re able to make people tap out in a thousand and three different ways, you put on clinics when you’re in the ring but you’re not as effective when one isn’t intimidated by you.. and I sure as hell ain’t intimidated by the hundred and thirty three time World Champion. You’re good Drew, hell you’re probably the best but I can’t ascend if I keep my ass in the back of the class with my head down, afraid to speak up ‘cause of Drew Stevenson’s massive shadow being casted on me. This is a once in a life-time opportunity and I’m stepping up to the plate and much like Babe freakin’ Ruth..


Pointing out before him, Showtime cut another smirk and nodded.


[Showtime]: I’m calling my shot and saying that tonight—in the main event, I get the shot to show the world, including the Golden Gate Wrestling Heavyweight Champion that I’m not going away, and I’m firin’ full steam ahead. BURAI!? Bradford?! Don’t stand in the tracks when the train is comin’ straight at you, ‘cause I ain’t puttin’ on the brakes. I’m going straight through you two clowns and goin’ pedal to the metal at Drew Stevenson ‘cause it’s my shot… and remember that I told you two…


Pointing over his left shoulder at the crowd of people who he represented, they shouted together.


[Crowd]: IT’S SHOWTIME, BABY!


Winking, Showtime nodded and stepped off of the scene as he had made it clear… The main event would go on even in a two-on-one handicap match with Showtime being at a disadvantage. That’s what a company man did, he stood up and fought for what was right… all as Showtime disappeared, The Skylarks popped back up and took place in front of the crowd, definitely bothered by Showtime’s remarks.


[Jerome Skylark]: You’re all traitors! WHERE’S THE SUPPORT FOR THE SKYLARKS?!


[Jerry Skylark]: YEAH! WHERE’S THE SUPPORT FOR US, WHO KNEW WE’D BEAT DREW AND BURAI!


[Jerome Skylark]: Showtime isn’t an unstoppable train! The Skylark Freight Train is the real de- ACK!


From behind The Skylarks, Showtime popped back up as his huge hands found its way behind each Skylark’s neck as Showtime put some crazy pressure with his grip. The Skylarks definitely looked uncomfortable by this as Showtime’s veins popped out of his hands from his grip.


[Showtime]: The Skylark Freight Train, eh!? Do you want to see a freight train!?


[Jerome Skylark]: N- ACK, NO- ACK!


[Jerry Skylark]: NOOOOOOOO- ACCKKKKK!


Letting go of their neck, Showtime cleared his throat, and despite being in obvious pain, the Skylarks AGAIN was given the chance to atone for their sins and get out of the area, which they did in quick fashion. With the crowd happy for Showtime’s presence popping up again, he held his arms out.


[Showtime]: Where the hell does IC3 find these guys?! Skylarks?! Roach?! The hell?!


With that said.. the scene cut out to black.
The main event seemed to be saved with Showtime stepping up to fill the gap left by The Black House being attacked, leaving them unable to compete. It'd be a task for sure, but something Showtime was willing to take on.
